Why is my RO running out of water and pressure after one glass?

Possible cause: Bladder pressure in storage tank is too low.

The RO tank has an air bladder in it that helps to push the water out. If the pressure in the air bladder is too low the tank will not push all the water out.

How do I check my RO tank pressure?

1

Shut the inlet water off to the system

2

Open the faucet and allow the tank to drain completely

3

Once the tank feels empty, check the air pressure using a pressure gauge.

4

The tank should have between 7 to 9 psi when empty. Use a bike pump or hand pump to add pressure.

5

If the tank remains heavy when the water stops flowing from the faucet, the tank will need more air pressure.

Put 7 PSI in the tank and allow it to empty. You may have to refill the air several times until the tank is light weight and has 7-9 PSI in the air bladder.

6

Once the tank has been pressurized, you can turn the water on and refill the tank with water by shutting off the faucet

If the tank loses pressure more than once annually, this indicates a tank failure. Either the bladder within the tank has failed, or the air valve is leaking.

The tank has a 5 year warranty from the date of purchase.
